Life After University
As part of our ongoing creative development platforms, we invited UKYA alumni and ambassadors Matthew John Atkinson and Colette Griffin to discuss their creative journeys and career paths following graduation in a public talk at Loughborough University.
Here's a little more about the artists:
Matthew John Atkinson
Matthew graduated from Loughborough University in 2007. His ethereal and nostalgic paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally and he has participated in a number of residencies across Europe. He has been shortlisted for the Mercury Art Prize, Celeste Art Prize and the Marmite Art Prize III.
Colette Griffin
Colette graduated from Loughborough in 2012 and has since exhibited her work nationally and internationally. She currently has a studio at One Thoresby Street and is the Visual Arts & Exhibitions Assistant at Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery.
A great afternoon with wonderful new artists. Many thanks to Matt and Colette for sharing news, views and their artist journeys. Also, a big thanks to all those that came - we looking forward to working with you all again!
